Interview with Lorenzo D’alo of Terps Army

With the global cannabis culture expanding rapidly, there’s no better time than now to explore the diverse experiences the world has to offer. Traveling abroad, especially for events like Spannabis in Barcelona, benefits from careful planning and local insights. In this interview with Lorenzo D’alo of Terps Army, we delve into his experiences across Europe and gain insights into Barcelona’s vibrant cannabis scene, particularly during Spannabis.

Lorenzo D’alo of Terps Army

Bobby Nuggz: How long have you been working in the cannabis industry, and when did you establish Terps Army?

Lorenzo Terps Army: I moved to Barcelona in 2013, and we decided to give everything we had to this endeavor In 2017, we opened our first cannabis club in Barcelona. It’s been an everyday grind since, and I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world.

Bobby Nuggz: It must be an interesting duality, living in and going back and forth between Holland and Barcelona. What are some of the notable differences between the two cannabis cultures?

Lorenzo Terps Army: Amsterdam is more about buying some weed at the coffee shop, rolling one up, smoking, and then leaving.

In Barcelona, it’s totally different, and I like it way better. Since you become a member of a club, you can chill inside all day without having to buy weed from the club. You can use that club as a workspace and relax at the same time. Barcelona brings people together; Amsterdam is kind of the opposite. Barcelona clubs vary from billiards to studies and cafes, so there’s a complex mix of offerings. Also in general, Barcelona has an incredible art, food and music culture so everything coincides well.

Bobby Nuggz: Since the old cup days, can you say if things have progressed or regressed over time?

Lorenzo Terps Army: Things are progressing for sure—more cups, more people growing and making hash. Because of competition, the quality of products has been driven by the market and has increased significantly. Maybe we’re losing some of those old-school strains, but that’s the price to pay if we want to evolve and always find new fire. With new strains releasing every day here in Europe, you have to continuously try the newest genetics to see what’s really good.

Bobby Nuggz: How has an event like Spannabis affected your business? Has the city given any pushback against the social clubs in Barcelona?

Lorenzo Terps Army: I have been attending Spannabis for many years and recommend it for any cannabis enthusiast to attend. It’s unlike any cannabis event I’ve attended in the world.

Spannabis is definitely the busiest month of the year for Barcelona cannabis clubs, in terms of how many people come from all over the world to try out those clubs. This event is one of the most coveted and talked about across the world. So In general the cannabis community spirit that week is very strong here in Barcelona.

At the same time, it’s also risky because the police know about all of this movement, and it could be a bad day for a club if they get an inspection while Spannabis is on.

At the end of the day, it’s all about respecting the rules and the way our city established consumption for the clubs. If you do things the right way and stay in compliance ,you won’t have any problems.

Bobby Nuggz: When it comes to cannabis tourism, you’re a seasoned veteran. Do you have any recommendations and travel tips for tourists interested in visiting Amsterdam and Barcelona?

Lorenzo Terps Army: It depends on what people are looking for; it’s always best to do research on locations to go. Get to know the destinations so you are prepared. Follow the terps and open all the doors. With my Instagram page @travelingtheworldforterps I try to show all the places I visit that have provided me cannabis experiences.

There’s so many options in the world and every place has its own unique atmosphere. I’d suggest going with the flow and network in each place because every country, club or coffee shop has different vibes and products to offer.
