Grey Market Mushrooms Series Part I: Mush Melo
Written By Lydia Mcclendon
After one of the country's largest psychedelic conferences has left Denver, more people than ever are curious about how integrating mushrooms, MDMA and more can help them find some inner peace. With this new wave of interest in psychedelics comes a difficult decision for some “grey market” brands within the psychedelic community. The grey market is nothing new, and has only gotten more advanced with the onset of the age of social media, encrypted apps, and good old-fashioned legalization…well, sort of.
The First Annual Yuy Fest
Written By Dennis Walker
A dynamic team of Chiapanecan fungi experts collectively known as Fungaria led the forays, educating the 30 plus foragers in attendance about the phylogeny, taxonomy, and ethnomycological aspects of the many diverse species of fungi that we encountered.
The finds were separated into distinct baskets distinguishing the toxic from the edible from the mycorrhizal fungi and brought afterwards to the main event hall where workshops and vendors congregated. They were then displayed on tables for conference attendees to examine and learn about from local student mycologists.
Cannadelic Summer: A Psychedelic St. Petersburg Experience
Written By Isabella DeChard
Cannadelic Summer, advertised as the world’s largest cannabis and psychedelics convention, was hosted at The Factory art center and The Fairgrounds immersive art exhibit in St. Petersburg. I’ve been fortunate enough to now attend both the Cannadelic here and the one in Miami this year, and I have to say that this past event’s location at St. Petersburg was incredibly exceptional!
When The Training Takes Over
Written By Jon Cory
I’m 5’8” in tall shoes and about 140 pounds. The speed limit is 55mph. I step into the middle of the five lanes and start waving my arms and motioning traffic to go around. Shared responsibility is NO responsibility. I point at drivers one at a time and get them moving away. At least I’m wearing a red shirt so they can see me better, and I note the irony. Yet I am still remarkably calm, with no triggers or anxiety attempting to convolute my responses.
To Be A Woman In Cannabis Is To Be A Chemchix
Interview By The “Naive Newb” Blue Amnesia
To be a woman in cannabis is to be a “Chemchix'' and the CEO of Chemchix is leaning into that pleasure; the pleasure that is acknowledging all the incredible women making the culture what it is, the pleasure of finding and stepping into our power.
Her experience in the industry on the marketing side of things is where she began to feel the call to uplift the voices of women in the space. As she shared her experiences of repetitive stolen credit and misplaced honor with me, I understood completely how she got inspired to be the change.
Miami’s Cannadelic Convention: Where Cannabis & Psychedelics Collide
Written by Isabella DeChard
Throughout the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of Cannadelic, I felt the crowd grow larger and larger with energy. While the event may have not had the trippy or captivating decor you’d imagine a psychedelic and cannabis convention space to have, I feel pretty hopeful for the immense potential and growth this specific industry event has in store!
The first day of the convention was specifically for B2B industry leaders and workers, I was meeting everyone from brand managers, influencers, venture capitalists, and simply passionate psychedelic stoners throughout the entire event weekend.
But no matter who you were, this cannabis and psychedelics convention was a thought-provoking and exciting experience for all. With a Main Stage, Secondary Stage, Zen Lounge, Experience Room, and Outdoor Smoke Lounge – every attendee swirled around the convention center making connections and learning something new.
How to Combat Stoner Stigma
Written By Benjamin Gold
Today, more Americans support cannabis legalization than at any point since its prohibition, with 78% believing it holds medical value. While more Americans are consuming cannabis for different reasons, we remain beholden to the idea that stoners are lazy, forgetful, and use it only for recreational purposes.
KushCon Cannabis Convention Provides “Cures” for Many Ills
Written By Natalie Goldberg
In April, the cannabis magnate, KushCon, approached me on social media with hopes that I could spread marketing throughout Tampa. As a Tampa native, I was overjoyed to complete this mission. Then, in June, the stars aligned as my beloved Fat Nugs Magazine invited me to contribute. Ultimately this led to sharing a booth with Vee, The Traveling Cannabis Writer, at the KushCon convention. My cannabis future seemed to be taking shape. I hadn’t stepped foot in the Tampa convention center since being a kid, so I knew I was in for a surprise.
