Exploring The Terroir Of The Mattole Valley: A Review Of Papaya Punch From Mattole valley Sungrown
Written By Shelley Peebles
When I was deciding which cultivar to highlight for this article, it seemed only natural for me to discuss the Papaya Punch cultivar. I have tried papaya grown in many different regions, and different varieties, however, this one stands out by far. This is something I attribute to the terroir of the Lost Coast.
The thing I loved most about getting to revisit this cultivar is that it brought me back to Miranda, NorCal. I was visiting and reconnecting with some girlfriends. One had brought along some of this fantastic Papaya Punch from Mattole Valley Farms. We rolled one up and salsa danced, enjoying each other's company for hours.
Cannabis History In The United States: Reviewing The 100-Year Timeline Of A Plant
Written By Deborah Agboola
No one knows when exactly cannabis came to America. What we do know is cannabis existed in the U.S. over 200 years before William O’Shaughnessy brought in the idea of medicinal cannabis. Unfortunately, when anti-cannabis proponents finally found the most questionable way to criminalize cannabis, they took it!
Florida Cannabis with Legacy Views
Written By Alex Popoff & Matthew Dean
Prepare to step into an earlier time, a time before cannabis donned its "licensed" attire. Matthew shares the experiences he’ll never forget. And, experiences many of us have never lived. It is important to share these stories.
Matthew's dreams were coming true in the 90s when he left Florida and sought a new life in California. Matthew would inhabit the same spaces as the founding fathers and mothers of the cannabis movement at the legendary San Francisco Cannabis Buyers Club.

It’s Time to Give Cannabis Consumers the Online Shopping Experience They Want
Written By Kelly Ebbert
Listening to customers is vital across all industries, but is uniquely essential in an ever-changing industry like cannabis. Structuring virtual experiences for consumers on their favorite platforms and offering loyalty programs are becoming increasingly important to boost customer satisfaction.
If you’re a brand operator itching to scale your customer base and keep your customers happy, it’s high time your brand gives canna-consumers the online shopping experience they want.
My First Experience in the Cannabis Industry
Written By Connor Cook
"I know I’m not alone when I say there’s no place I’d rather work. Even with the snakes, the cannabis community is still unmatched. It has to be. Competition is fierce, margins are tight, and there’s little room for error. People have to band together, and you’re seeing more and more examples of that every day.
If you’re thinking about getting into the cannabis industry, the time is now. It is in desperate need of talented individuals with a passion for the plant and community. We’re all living through history, and those who are brave enough to come out of the green closet have the opportunity to shape this industry for the better."
Keeping the Culture at the Forefront: New Jersey NECANN
Written By Jessica Rielly-Chevalier
NECANN is one of the most popular cannabis events on the East Coast, traveling from state to state to generate excitement, awareness, and connections in the cannabis industry. This was my first year at the New Jersey event, and I wanted to soak it all up.
There was, in a single word, excitement. Excitement on the show floor, excitement in the educational sessions, and plenty of excitement at the afterparties. Much of the excitement stemmed from the possibility of a nascent market. Again and again, I heard: now is the time to get into New Jersey.
In Response to Calls for Cannabis Decriminalization: Evaluating the Implications of Rescheduling
Written By Tara Eveland
While HHS's recommendation is seen by the majority as a potential step forward, many cannabis industry groups are sounding the alarm and urging the public to look below the surface of yet another government promise.
One critical aspect that reform advocates underscore in this statement is that rescheduling cannabis wouldn't automatically lead to the release of current cannabis convicts or the expungement of related records. Furthermore, the unresolved issues of immigration-related consequences and eligibility for public benefits would persist. The criminalization's disproportionate impact on Black and Latino communities would continue, despite the change in scheduling
Native Veteran: Living Soil and Giving Back
Written By Alex Popoff
Caleb Neal was one of the first fellow veterans that I met after moving to Oklahoma. Caleb is co-owner and head grower at Native Veteran, a licensed craft living soil grower in Oklahoma. Caleb co-owns Native with his Native American partners. Caleb’s warm welcome and invaluable assistance with my own home grow was greatly appreciated, and his friendship to me and other veterans has been an ongoing source of great meaning and support. In this interview, I’ll talk with Caleb about penny grams of flower and hash for veterans, Oklahoma’s volatile medical cannabis market, and the development of Native Veteran’s solventless lab.

Legacy Vs. Legal: The War over the Future of Cannabis
Written By Tara Eveland
There is a place for the big dogs, and we have welcomed them into our states, but now they want to totally shut out the legacy entrepreneurs and small businesses that got them where they are today, and we will not let that happen. Those of us that love this plant, those of us that have fought for years for patients over profits.
We won’t let the people that paid that cost not have a seat at this table, especially when #bridgingthelegacytolegalgap is not unheard or unattainable.
Genevieve's Journey: Cannabis and Dentistry for the Developmentally Disabled
Written By Mike Robinson
Today, we offer a nuanced perspective into the specific cannabinoids that benefit Genevieve, especially as she faces the challenges of upcoming oral surgery. This type of surgery is not usually easy for people with severe developmental delays.
It takes profound amounts of sedation to get her into that dentist chair, and then she must use the gas. She often will also take a nap while the professionals work. THC and CBD were particularly effective for her, whereas CBD initially did not yield the desired results.
A Home Grow Review on Behalf of Treehouse Labs and Nick Barten
Written By Daniel Crawford
I first met Nick Barten when I was giving a tour of our Shango Cannabis facility, located in Phoenix Arizona. He runs an independent brokerage which works in the cannabis space…
He accompanied our local testing lab, Treehouse Laboratories and their then CEO Glynn Townsend, as well as the California brand Revenant with NFL greats, Jim McMahon, Kyle Turley and Eben Britton for the facility tour. As time went on Nick and I became friends, we talked a lot about home growing, and I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to help him with his home growing.

NMBR9 Drink Mix Review
Written By Casey Renteria
I opened my mailbox and found a small white bubble mailer. A Grinch-like smile crept up on my face as I rushed home to enact my plan.
I’m allergic to gluten which means basically all alcohol is off-limits for me. Not that I miss drinking but wine gets old, and I never pass up a chance to consume cannabis. I and fellow CannaMom had a moms' night in, here's how it went.
Grey Market Mushrooms Series Part I: Mush Melo
Written By Lydia Mcclendon
After one of the country's largest psychedelic conferences has left Denver, more people than ever are curious about how integrating mushrooms, MDMA and more can help them find some inner peace. With this new wave of interest in psychedelics comes a difficult decision for some “grey market” brands within the psychedelic community. The grey market is nothing new, and has only gotten more advanced with the onset of the age of social media, encrypted apps, and good old-fashioned legalization…well, sort of.

I'm F*cked, They About to Drug Test Me!
Written By LaWann Stribling
I sat down with my husband to ask him how he was feeling as he awaited the results of his incident drug screening. He was mostly worried about being suspended because the loss of income would create unnecessary hardships on our family’s finances. He apologized to me over and over again, but I told him I wouldn't accept it. When he made the decision to use cannabis, he thought his only consequence would be to attend a drug class. He knew he wouldn't be fired but wasn't aware of the 90 days unpaid suspension and 5 years' probation.
